About

A poet, writer, and aspiring publisher

Shea Winters is a poet and creative writer from rural Illinois, where storytelling first became an escape from the quiet but repetitive rhythms of small-town life. In May 2025, she graduated with distinction from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in English and creative writing and a focus in publishing.

At Iowa, Shea built a strong foundation in both editorial and design work. She served as art editor and poetry editor for Ink Lit Mag 23-24, writing editor for snapshots issues 2-3, a children’s literature magazine, and as the typesetter and book designer for Wilder Things Magazine volumes 4-9, which publishes speculative fiction. Her creative work has appeared in Ink Lit Mag (Volumes 23, 24, and 26), snapshots (Issue 2), Catharsis Magazine (Volume 2), earthwords (Issue 45), and Fools Magazine (Volume 14.5). She has an upcoming project soon to be published in Brink No. 10.

Shea is passionate about collaboration, storytelling, and creating intentional, visually compelling literary spaces. She is currently seeking new opportunities in publishing, editing, and creative writing.
